Straker Nets, Maloney Pacers, Quarters and Valencia Heat have been confirmed as joint champions in the inaugural Big Basketball League.

The BBL took a break for Carnival last year and did not resume after the festive season.

At that time the four teams, Pacers and Heat (Eastern Conference) and Quarters and Nets (Western Conference) were set to play in the respective Conference Finals (Big 4).

The BBL has decided to declare the four teams joint champions.

The BBL's application to the Sport and Culture Fund was denied without explanation thus causing the season to come to a screeching halt.

The BBL will honour the commitment to the teams and will award each team the $17,500 for the joint championship.

Teams will be notified of the commencement of payment that will be done over a period of time.

The BBL wishes to thank the teams for their support and patience during the difficult period.
