Twenty year old Grenadian Teddy Bishop has received his first senior West Indies call up, for the One Day Internationals in Australia next month.
The former West Indies Under 19 captain scored 243 runs in last season’s Regional Super 50 that included two fifties at an average 60.75 across six innings.
He is one of four new faces in the ODI team, the others being Tevin Imlach, Kavem Hodge and Justin Greaves who are currently in Australia with the Test team.
Greaves was narrowly edged out by Trinidad and Tobago captain Daren Bravo for the most runs in the Super 50 last term.
Hayden Walsh returns to the team, after stellar performances in last October’s Super 50. Representing the Leeward Island Hurricanes, the leg spinner snared 20 wickets to finish joint top with Sunil Narine, while he averaged 44 with the bat, hitting two fifties in the process.
Jason Holder’s unavailability continues in the 50 over team as well as Nicholas Pooran who announced a break from the ODI team in the middle of last year.
