Local sports fans have reason to celebrate: Wavetvtt.com will offer free live streaming for the remainder of April and all of May.
The move is part of a growth and marketing push to expand the site’s audience. “We’re driven by the athletes,” said Wave TV Managing Director Ian Wason. “It makes little sense to have a handful of subscribers watching the races when we could have thousands watching the athletes for free.”
Free access applies to live streams only. Subscribers will retain exclusive benefits — entry to “Win With Wave” promos and competitions, and on‑demand access to past events, films and other upcoming programming. “It costs to maintain the website; we need revenue to keep it running,” Wason added.
During April and May fans can watch track and field coverage, with the Lystra Lewis Port of Spain Netball League and the North Zone Basketball League also added to the streaming schedule.
